I'd kill for that space at the moment. Typical conversation at home:

mrs bd139: "stop burning and drilling holes in the dining table. they're everywhere"
bd139: "you threw all my cardboard in the recycling bin"
mrs bd139: "well we're going to have to go to Ikea now and get that one I wanted"
bd139: "it's ok I've filled all the holes with superglue and sanded it"
mrs bd139: "hrumph!"

Actually, I'm the one who's usually kvetching at the wife & kids to take better care of the kitchen table; it's a 3rd generation family "heirloom" (HER family, BTW) with shellac finish. I'm constantly having to wipe it down with alcohol to fix the white spots they make with hot plates and burritos... and it's MY workbench THEY keep covering with every damned thing they don't know what to do with. I can only imagine this phenomenon will increase tenfold now it's all behind my computer desk in the corner of the living room instead of behind a closed door.  :palm:

That sounds like an excellent time to bring up a haircut!

And to make absolutely SURE you wind up sleeping on the couch, don't forget to mention handbags, shoes, and the ol' mani-pedi every Wednesday... gotta go for the whole Trifecta!!!  :-DD

She can sleep on the couch or at the in-laws, you mean? The ladywoman has a free will and can decide to join me or not, but none of the possible outcomes involve me not sleeping in my own bed.

Seems to be good for general use. Congrats on that find.

Thanks.

It will be my primary HV scope probe for now, as my other Tektronix probe isolator is bigger than the scope  ::) and quite a hassle to use. Also I'm going to retire my 1KVA isolation transformer, as its so big and consumed big chunk of my lab real estate, and damn heavy, really hate it.

To be fair to her I'm entirely OCD and unhappy unless I do the cooking and cleaning to my standards.

But yes, I probably was drunk  :-DD

Edit: Bought me another DT830 DMM because it was cheaper than paying for delivery fee on CPC. That is my only TEA contribution this week  :palm:

Well, that would be the only way you'd ever get me to have one of those horrid little things. Yes they do a job if you can't afford anything else I suppose, its a bit like those Diahatsu's, get from A to B and thats about it, I'd want to park it somewhere just round the corner out of sight so nobody knew it was mine  :-DD

Hahaha I borrowed a Dihatsu van once to shift some kit around. Parked it at work and instantly got the name "sooty van driver"  :-DD

To be 100% fair to them, they're fine for low power stuff. If you expect them to last a long time or survive a cock up, then you'll be disappointed. Incidentally they're actually pretty similar design to the early Fluke 8020A's and probably about as safe :)

What could be better than a kit, that will be used to make an 'analogue' volt meter (bar graph display) to peak old circuits, it will involve a bit of design (read= op amps for simpletons ie me) and a long NIXIE TUBE or two!
The Arduino part can be easily omitted. None of this new fangled digital muck.
Thanks to Pete of PV electronics in UK. :-+ (no association other than happy customer)
Whoah! Watch where that landed we might need it later.
