It's amazing what you find when you google sometimes. There's a Philips PM series thing if you put in google and hit images you get Japanese tentacle porn.

Have surveyed all the probes that come with the 465 and most are to be honest quite knackered. I've managed to bodge together two working 10x probes. This required replacing the compensation box on one with one off a dead probe which isn't trivial if you've ever seen how big the conductor is inside the cables is (an ant's dick thick). There's another one which is ok but the readout ring is cracked so it disintegrates. Not a bad haul really but it leaves me longing for some non shit probes.

A trip to ProbeMaster means a £200 buggering for three probes so that will have to wait for now. Got some cheaper end ones without readout floating around.

Nope, I tried it again with "Philips", "Philips PM", "Philips PM series" and "Philips PM series thing" and I get are images related one way or the Philips products and I'm running Windows 10 and Chrome browser.

You have to type PMxxxx where xxxx was a model number. Can't remember which one.

Given that it would appear the seller of the T-Con board via Aliex is a bit suspect, I have now ordered another from another seller on Aliex who assures me that the board is the correct one and identical to the photo I sent so hope they are right and it arrives, cheaper as well.

As for the other one I opening up a dispute directly with Aliex I think, I'm fed up dealing with the seller directly as every-time I contact them I have a feeling of no confidence and it looks like I'm being lied to and have been all along I think.

There are a lot of vendors on AliEx and Taobao who are just listing stuff other vendors have and don't stock a damn thing themselves. When they get your money, they try to buy it from one of the vendors they knew had it for less; most of the time you never know except when that low seller sells out, or for some other reason the "going price" of the item is much higher than you paid and the vendor can't get it for you at your price. Then they play the stalling game/language barrier game/repeating the same questions over and over again game/demanding video-photo-documentation game while they try to find one to fill your order or just ignore you and let the system take the heat.

THOSE are the vendors that torque my turkey, because even if they get oodles of bad feedback, they'll just torch the account and be back with a new store name a week later.

Oh, I've seen a couple different models of those yellow Racal counters a year or so ago. Didn't know that much about them, so I let them be. Interested to hear more about yours.

Full manual for the Racal counter online with diagrams and descriptions. This one is the 20MHz one and there is also an 80MhZ one.

Unsure if the Right most Nixie isn't working or if it is a setup thing?

The manual just says that the gate time is based on the selected range, which also affects the number of least-significant digits displayed. I guess you'll find out soon.

Sounds like I've found one of those sellers, their not unique though, Amazon has some of those and of course eBay is full of them. Needs to be a way of stamping them out because it gives the wrong impression of the store front holder, Aliexpress who are trying to provide a good service.

Racal do a divide by 10 front end for those. If you keep your eye out, they turn up occasionally. That gives you 200MHz of nixie glory with 10Hz resolution.

A few days ago I bought a HP3457A. It looks so much cooler than my DM3068 and is perfect to accompany my MV116 reference standart. A bonus is that I can do the calibration myself and don't have to send it god knows where.

I don't think the 3457A did any kind of artifact calibration, so wouldn't calibrating require access to fun sources like a stable 300 VDC signal (luckily it does not go to 1000 VDC), or a stable 300 VDC, 5 kHz AC signal? Can you do a partial calibration of just a single range for a single function?

Do check the calibration RAM battery. If it runs out (and it does not give any advance warning, even its voltage will barely drop), you will be forced to do a full calibration. See here for some information.

But even if the battery is dead or I would loose the cal data while changing it, I could do a full calibration. I have access to a Datron 4808 DMM calibrator at the university. It has almost all options. Only the extended current option is missing. So it`s possible for me to calibrate the HP3457A, as I did with my HP3468A and HP3478A.
I also already have a 3V lithium battery I bought from ebay priviosly for my HP3478A, where it wasn't needed. So I don't have to wait for a replacement if neccessary.

You don't have to lose the cal while changing it. I've replaced mine and I simply temporarily wired in a 3V standby voltage. Just connect the temp voltage to a convenient point that connects back to the battery directly, and remove it when the new battery is soldered in.
