Heh, thanks bitseeker!

And actually forgot the Keithley 238  |O so it's actually up to 6000 EUR already, luckily there's no bank manager or wife involved at the moment, just skipped travelling for a year. Planning to sell the old Philips 6.5 digit, a calibrated Wayne Kerr 6425, and some of the pods for the HP 1652B to offset the cost slightly. Also got a Conta 20011 laying around that I was planning to sell, but that French piece of misery is so badly assembled that I'm contemplating posting it to Dave, it gives a new definition to the word crusty.

And by all intents and purposes, the Weston Cell and Keithley 130 are toys. The DP832 behaves like a crappy toy, so there's that. The rest gets used pretty heavily, especially the 2001 sees a lot of use. Just for some serious home fiddling though, started working on my own 7.5 digit multimeter design a while back. So might need to lob an electrometer onto the list :D

I think the coast is pretty clear on that front, he said that there was no wife involved so I take it that he's single and can get away with having his lab/workbench in the living room if he wants :-+

I'm after a bipolar power supply if anyone is getting rid of one ;)

Need tracking.

And i would guess you had no need for one 3 hours ago before you saw the post from Cerebus.

Actually one of them does look nice....Damn it this thread is not helping my TEA

It was never intended to, imho.  >:D

Well there also might be another boatanchor in the works. A old HP Semiconductor analyzer, well its not thaaat old it already has a 3 1/2 inch floppy on it.

It is basicaly 4 channel SMU with a output of +/-100V 100mA with sub nanoamp ranges and a raster CRT screen to draw out the characteristics in a graph. So basically a glorified transistor curve tracer with some digital smarts.

My current defence is "I need these for doing my PhD", and the last girlfriend was an electronics engineer, so she understood. She didn't help my TEA, I might have infected her in fact. I like to claim we broke up over the last coax cable, so I'll stick to that story.

Workbench is in the bedroom at the moment, garage and shed aren't sufficiently water proof.

Berni, we understand!

I have already received the esd-mat from TME Electronics but I can't present it on my bench now because that would need extensive clean up first. And at the time my bench is used for calibrating the repaired OCXO of my HP 3335A:

I'm going along the temperature-hertz-curve step by step to find the stable minimum where the change of frequency per degree Celsius is minimal.

Once I've found it I'll first rebuild my bench (have ordered items for some reasonable money) and will then hopefully be able to present the esd mat on a clean and tidy bench.  :)

I thought I would show my HeathKit IG-4505 all cleaned up and with caps replaced.  It works as it should.  I didn't post any pics of it working, I'm sure you have seen the video posted on the EEVBlog on it.  It was free and the caps were cheap.

Yeh, they are a nice piece of kit and especially suited to the analog scopes, as the digital ones get faster and faster, more specialist and expensive calibrators are required.

Did you fit the BNC socket (I assume thats whats hiding under the yellow condom), thats what I did to mine as well, makes it easier to store and also easier to connect to other pieces of kit if required as well.

Yes, I did.  I have some RG-174 and I used a piece of that to replace the coax.  Much better without that long cable hanging around.  I do love those yellow condoms.  I bought 100 of them for cheap as, at the time, I could not find a pack of 50 and I liked the yellow color better than the red.  All BNC connectors are so protected.  The Tek 2465 and the GW-Instek GOS-6112 agree with the calibrator output so I am happy there.

Thank you, X.  The top of the case has a couple of scratches.  I'm not going to worry about them, it's not worth finishing the case to me.  It works and I much prefer function over form.  Now, SWMBO, another matter altogether. |O    Hey, it's HeathKit, not a multi $1000 piece of gear.  Besides, it looks a whole lot better than some of the other junk, err, I mean fine pieces of vintage gear that is sitting in my garage waiting for me to post it for sale on QRZ.com

Lesson learned. If the trouble is going to be equally big anyway, better buy the expensive stuff.

There is depressingly nothing very interesting on eBay at the moment.  :--

I put starting amount bids on a couple of things to get rid of the buy it now because they were stupidly high and that is about it.
