This came up in my feed when I logged in to post the 3DP Pr0n vid. Thought some here might enjoy the fiddly-bits.
I've seen that video before, when I googled "hardware debouncer". I ended up using TC74HC14APF instead.  :-DD But I did enjoy the lesson.

This is mostly for cyclin_al; but interesting perspective on the current GPU Apocalypse so thought I'd bring it here. Just ignore the clickbait-hype thumbnail; it's part & parcel of YoobToob anymore.

Yeah that skip would be emptied by the dodgy "any-old-iron" vans in no time here.
My brother was lucky to pull a Philco pre-war radio out of one on the main road here just before those vans appeared.

Thank you to dl6lr & Neomys Sapiens, I now have 20 pdf files of the PM6645 diagrams, all renamed and put back into the correct page order.

Question, as it's been suggested I could edit & combine these pdf files without printing & rescanning, anyone have a suggestion of what program to use? Needs to be free and be able to deal with 20 two page pdf files, remove the 20 unwanted RM advert pages, personal info and create a single 20 page pdf.

The Type 547 saga continues....

These 3 strips are basically the entire PSU. I went through and measured every resistor. You can do that and usually get a good reading without lifting them because vacuum tube circuits are high impedance. Found nothing suspicious. Starting to grasp at straws. Those epoxy tubular capacitors rarely go bad. Just submitted a Mouser order to replace them all. And specified FedEx 2nd day air. UPS and their 4 or 5 day "2nd day air" can go suck it.

Most of the tubes I ordered showed up. Two 6080's and Two 6CW5's. The 6BY8 will show up tomorrow. These tubes delivered today are very obviously from a equipment/tube rapist. How do I know that? The 6080's came with no boxes and the 6CW5's came in generic white boxes hand labeled. The tubes themselves have hp markings on them. Yep, tube rapist. But at least they are coming "back home" and not to an audiophool.

The Type 535A in the background attempting to show the Type 547 how it's done. The Type 547 isn't listening.  :-DD Incidentally, the Type 535A has the same type PSU with the exact same voltages but an earlier design with several different tubes.

Checking on the arrivals for Stanstead Airport I notice there was a fairly rare Antonov 124-100 coming in this evening from Istanbul and it was touch and go if I'd be able to get a shot or two of it before the sun went down, and here is one, bathed in the evening golden sunlight, another 5 minutes and the light had gone completely.

I'll bet the Russians would love to get the one and only AN-225 back from the Ukrainians even though it got recently bent up a bit from a landing accident.

Somehow I just remembered I may have something to contribute to this cluster fuck of a thread : when I was studying in the UK a long time ago, was doing my industrial placement in a small R&D department near Cambrdige. They were all very nice with that weird French guy that I was, and the very first day, the boss of the dept. handed me the following paper (attached below), a full page, titled :  " FUCK, our most versatile word in the English Language ". It was 22 years ago but somehow I still have it ! I knew it was worth archiving everything from that placement...

Currently writing CGI scripts in Perl, to control hardware via TELNET.

Will serve them on Port 80, using HTTP.  In a frameset.

Do note that this technology is 20 years newer than the Tek 547.

I've done 7 flights on the AN124-100 including 2 atlantic crossings. Not recommended. During the first fligh one of the ground crew started cooking something on a Camping Gaz burner on the floor  :scared:
Inflight catering and entertainment was totally DIY.

From what I've heard, that's classic Russian behaviour!

One example, which I hope is a "fisherman's tale", is of a glider that got a tow behind a Russian aircraft with four prop engines. The glider was flying before the tow had even started moving down the runway :)

Yes, I heard that they carry their own ground crew and engineers with them as the planes are so different to those used by most other countries that they demand specialist knowledge to load / unload and maintain them.

If you want a memento of your flights in this plane, I have the high-res photos if you would like one.

Gliders just want to fly!

I remember walking on one side of a Blanik to keep the wing tip off the ground, & finding I was redundant before I took much more than a dozen steps at a comfortable walking pace.

This was in a farmer's paddock---------the Cessna tow plane would often return to its home base with cow poo under its wings!
