The Type 547 saga continues....
These 3 strips are basically the entire PSU. I went through and measured every resistor. You can do that and usually get a good reading without lifting them because vacuum tube circuits are high impedance. Found nothing suspicious. Starting to grasp at straws. Those epoxy tubular capacitors rarely go bad. Just submitted a Mouser order to replace them all. And specified FedEx 2nd day air. UPS and their 4 or 5 day "2nd day air" can go suck it.
Most of the tubes I ordered showed up. Two 6080's and Two 6CW5's. The 6BY8 will show up tomorrow. These tubes delivered today are very obviously from a equipment/tube rapist. How do I know that? The 6080's came with no boxes and the 6CW5's came in generic white boxes hand labeled. The tubes themselves have
hp markings on them. Yep, tube rapist. But at least they are coming "back home" and not to an audiophool.
The Type 535A in the background attempting to show the Type 547 how it's done. The Type 547 isn't listening.
Incidentally, the Type 535A has the same type PSU with the exact same voltages but an earlier design with several different tubes.
