As expected, the ESI resistor decade is electrically fine.
It just has 2 minor issues. On arrival, something small moved inside. Turned out to be a small washer.
As I had to open it because of this, you get INSIDE pictures.
Because of the construction, which does not ensure that the rear end of the standoff between front panel and rear panel becomes unscrewed, a larger toothed washer also came out of it in two parts.
I figured it out as follows: someone tried to open it and the small washer fell into the device from the right standoff. The perp also fiddled with the left standoff, which is directly screwed onto the GROUND binding post (with the large, toothed washer for contact towards the front panel). When retightening the screws from the rear, the large washer was damaged.
The other issue is the dial of the ohms 'tens'. As you can see, it is slightly out of alignment with the other ones.
I will seek guidance from TEGAM on how to correct this and how the assembly should be done to ensure that the correct thread is unscrewed. Maybe I'll ask for a washer.
Also, as I was already doing this, I have had a look at the inside of my Kelvin-Varley divider of the same provenience. No issues here, except some deformations of the sheet metal. And that is a special model which does not have the pointer bracket. It is not missing, as there is no hole for the screw in the lid under the dials. Working nicely. For now, I use it as it is.
