I have been looking for a decent budget scope for a while and a Hantek DSO 8060 popped up recently for $300 CAD. I looked around and couldn't find any recent reviews for the scope. I was wondering if this is a good price and if it is worth it over something like a Hantek 2D72 which is much cheaper. I don't plan on doing anything too crazy, just need something good enough for a hobbyist. Thanks

it's declared discontinued on Hantek site

not sure i would buy theses,  no further support of FW upgrades,  you'll have to live with it ...  i would choose the 8060,   way over the other

i would not even compare them at all

if you snatch a very good 8060 at low price ...  but can you do some tests on it  before purchase ??

It is difficult to compare.

First of all, it wouldn't be a handheld for my hand, at 24.5cm x 16.3cm and 1.2 kg.
Then it's probably been on the market for 13 or 14 years and as coromonadalix said, it's discontinued.
Then it depends on what you mean by "decent budget scope". 250 MSA/s and 60MHz are not exactly outstanding these days.

If I wouldn't really need it in the field, for this price I would buy a benchtop scope and a separate multimeter, which doesn't take up much more space.

If you are looking for a mobile scopemeter, there is e.g. Owon HDS2202S for about the same price.

But yes, apparently there are fans of this Hantek Model: https://youtu.be/TkMj3aZyPek

The Owon HDS series is very limited, at least in terms of function.
I think the HDS2202 is a bit overpriced.
Have you looked at the OWON TAO3074?
Or if you need a combined one, then TAO3072.
