Tektronix 464 Bright Screen
« on: May 08, 2020, 10:09:04 am »
Hi All,

I've dusted off my father's old oscilloscope and I believe there may be an issue with the screen as it appears to illumination across the whole screen. Sometimes I turn it on and everything is fine. Other times it has flashes of light. Other times permanently on.

Any thoughts on what could be wrong? It has sentimental value so I'd love to be able to get it working!

Almost looks like it is set to storage mode.  Make sure the "non-store" button is depressed and also hit the "erase" button a couple of times.  Ultimately, you
might have to spray some contact cleaner in the switches if the behavior is intermittent.

Brilliant - non-store was not active!

Thank you very much.

It would be worth watching the storage modes video linked on the 464 TekWiki page and finding a downloadable copy of the manual...
