yep, i got the firmware muddled, mine is running 38. so yes it does work on the latest firmware

38 is not on the website yet- I guess we are the beta testers...

So I also successfully upgraded my 2042X to 120M. I am wondering what the other bwopt codes would do?

I seem to remember when I hacked my 1104X-E a few years ago there were 3 unlock codes including WIFI, AWG and Logic Analyzer in addition to the bandwidth upgrade, but the process was much more involved and required dumping the memory and parsing it for codes and then culling that list down to three.

Does this script replace that process and is therefore is a generic script for not just AWGs, but other Siglent equipment as well? Hence the extra codes?

Or are any of those bwopt codes applicable to the 2042X?

And what would happen if I were to MCBD one of them?

38 might just be a hardware support change. We'll know if they ever release another firmware.

There's nothing to unlock besides the bandwidth, any other codes are useless.

Just for info, SDG 2042X upgraded to SDG 2122X successfuly.
Today, and with latest firmware 2.01.01.38R4.
Using Telnet  Putty and pyton script.
