Hello all,
I have measured GPP-4323 response when it enters CC mode and limits output current by lowering the output voltage.
The output voltage reduced from 3V to 1V in about 200ms.
Exponentially decline waveform.
How can I calculate the GPP-4323 output capacitance? How can I know the discharging resistance of the circuit? What are the common values?
The protection time is really slow. Many actual devices can be damaged until CC kicks in.
How do power supply manufacturers usually design the output current protection circuitry?
Are SMU devices faster when they enter CC mode and if yes, then why? What different circuitry are they using?
Have you ever built an external CC to protect your circuits instead of the CC circuitry of the lab power supply?
