I got a Tektronics Tekscope THS 720std 100Mhz (Tekscope) Digital real time 500MS/s channel

Not sure if I got ripped off  due to the amount of  Shill bidding on Ebay. Anyway I got it for 170 pounds with lots of other stuff thrown in 3 x p5102 probes probes etc and other bits.

I was just trying to find out a bit about the scope. The model has software version V1.03.

So I take it this version of the scope is older than the THS720A is this right?

What do I need to check with this DSO to make sure its all ok?

This is likely enough.  You might find out more by downloading the THS720 and THS720A manuals and comparing them for differences.

A fast edge generator to check transient response will reveal obscure problems.  A function generator with calibrated frequency and amplitude will work for basic tests.

the A rev I believe simply has the option of trigger input thru the multimeter banana jacks.

The latest firmware for A rev is 1.18 i think. So you could be far behind. I have no idea how you'd upgrade the firmware, besides manually copying the flash chip.

I could not find any manuals for the scope or anything all this makes sense now as there were no geuine bidders. So looks like I got a bad deal!
