I wouldn't have posted this but for the request of another member. We were discussing it in another thread and he "shamelessly" pleaded for it. So, I thought I'd post it here in case anyone else was interested.
This is an older model, not the "B" version I've seen on eBay. Can't tell you what the difference is, if any, but after tearing it down, I'm actually impressed. When I bought it 20 years ago, I'd just had my Fluke stolen and needed a quick replacement. This is what the supply house had for not too much money. Thought I got ripped off then, paying $70 IIRC, but it was about a third the cost of a Fluke. Overall, I've been pleased with it. Aside from the outer bumper cover being hard has hell to get on and off, it's been good to me. It's been tossed, dropped and sat on and not a moments grief until I apparently applied to great a current to the ammeter and blew a fuse. The teardown gave me the opportunity to clean it, though the inside was impressively clean. The gold contacts are as shiny as new. I wonder if they're still using gold contacts? It may just be plate, but it's held up well.
I haven't had the reason or occasion to calibrate it. Can't tell you how accurate it is. But it's always read pretty much exactly what I expected. My recent venture into electronics has given me the opportunity to measure values that I know more precisely, variable voltage regulators for one. Every reading of the adjust to output voltages has been +/- .02 volts of the 1.25v reference. Close enough for this hobbyist.

PS... just noticed, I put the rubber bumper back on upside down. NO, that ISN'T the reason its hard to get on and off. It's gotten very hard and inflexible over the years.
