New eBay score - a HP 6038A autoranging power supply - 60V, 10A, 200W. Got it for pretty cheap at ~$50 for parts/not-working. It had an interesting fault symptom so I thought it would make for a fun repair; plus, I dont have a PSU with this high an output.
Never heard of an autoranging power supply before. It's an interesting concept. What are your thoughts on them? I hear they sacrifice some accuracy due to the PSU having to constantly calculate the max output throughout its range?
First part of a video series I plan to do on repairing, calibrating, and a performance evaluation of this unit.
