Status on the SDM3045X relay click
« on: June 21, 2022, 09:58:35 am »
What's the status on the relay click issue with the SDM3045X? I mean the annoying click and ~1s delay around 2V (or 2mA for DCA measurement), see e.g. https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/will-this-2v-signal-damage-my-bench-multimeter-over-time/ .

Summary of the situation as I understand:
Is that right? Is there still hope of a firmware fix from Siglent?

Can someone confirm that hacking to SDM3055X-E will fix the click issue?

Thanks, I see that people successfully upgraded their device to SDM3055X-E but I didn't see a mention of how this affects the click issue. Does it actually solve it?

The hack changes the manual measurement range steps in 3045X for them to match 3055 range steps instead of being in the middle of the 6V range step the 3045X is supplied with.
Study the thread more and the datasheet range step differences between the 4.5 and 5.5 models.  ;)
