So, let's follow PeDre's discoveries to DELETE LICENSES ON A RIGOL DSA8xx/7xx:

1. Create a USB vendor disk (instructions attached) and insert the disk in the Rigol DSA (should work in any model)

2. Activate FACTORY MODE, using the keys according to the attached sequence.

3. A Del Option will appear to allow the deletion of the licenses. WARNING: Once pressed, it will delete all licenses! (You'll need to re-insert the ones you want to retain.)

This procedure was investigated by @PeDre. It seems that currently there is no SCPI command implementation to delete the licenses.

Hi, I tried to do the same procedure but I couldn't do it.
make a pendriver to access factory mode
Would you help me
When trying to enter factory mode, the command is blocked
I use fw .18 or dsa and new model

Guys, I have just picked up a used but mint looking  DSA815, in the licenses screeen, the only one I have is TG-DSA800 which I believe is the tracking generator as this has a tracjking generator installed that option is showing as forever, all the rest are showing as trial, time  left 0hr 0min 0s.

From the information screen, the unit has
Version of mainboard : 00.09
Version of radio frequency board FPGA : 00.05
Version of Digital board FPGS : 00:01.19
Version of Firmware : 00.01.19
Version of Boot : 00:01:04

From what I can see in this thread, I am stuffed to get the additional options enabled using the keygen as the trial time is zero for all the options, can anyone confirm that to be the case.
Obviously, having only just picked it up I don't want to turn it into a paperweight by doing something silly such as downgrading the firmware if that will not be of any help, but it would be really good to have the additional options enabled if possible.

Thank you.

My 815 tg after an hour of work, today hung on half the scale.
After turning off and on, it hung on the loading sign, and that's it. There was strong heating near the input connector.
Do you know what I discovered? with a slight wobble of the stabilizers, two on the right, their middle terminals shorted to a common aluminum radiator. The thermal pads of the stabilizers were pressed through. I redesigned the cooling system with 3 pads.
I was lucky that the device survived. Judging by the messages above, the breakdown of the tantalum capacitor is a consequence of this. Do not delay with the modification, you may be next )))

Due to your post I have just taken mine apart. My thermal pads were not punched-through. However, I will replace them all.

I did notice a small problem with the white insulating bushings that the mounting screw goes through. The only bushing that was undamaged was the one used with the LM337. The other three used with the LM317s were "squashed" and damaged. This is because the LM337 has a thicker metal tab that works with the white bushing thickness (I have a bag of replacements and they are the same as these). The LM317s seem to require a different white insulating bushing because when the screw is tightened it will smash the thin extended part of the white bushing that Rigol used. Does anyone agree with this observation? I can cut down the thin extended plastic of the white bushing with a razor blade if I have to, but is there another "size" that goes with the LM317 thinner metal tab thickness out there?

I will post some pics tomorrow.

Also, how about the CR2032 battery? I can find nothing on this battery used in the DSA815. Can I simply take it out and replace it with no problems at all?  :-//
I told my friends I could teach them to be funny, but they all just laughed at me.
