Lafayette fg39b function generator

Has anyone had any experience with the Lafayette brand?   I'm looking for low cost function generator and wondered whether anyone could give a good recommendation on this particular brand and model.    Im pushing towards Instek but thought I'd get your opinions on this first.

Where are you located? I would highly recommend you buy a DDS based generator that lets you key in the frequency, rather than twiddling a knob; it's much less painful when you need an exact frequency. You can get a brand new Siglent or Rigol for the price of that Lafayette on ebay (if you're in the US, probably even cheaper!).

I remember Lafayette as an amateur and CB radio brand. My guess is that someone bought the name.
Look at a Siglent SDG1010 which costs less and gives you a lot more.

It is a function generator made by MCP in China.

Look at a Siglent SDG1010 which costs less and gives you a lot more.

Their Criterion line of floor loudspeakers were good low end speakers.  I had them for years, loved the sound.

Certainly were. I had an LR 3030A receiver and a pair of Criterions that lasted me almost 20 years until the subwoofer suspension foam turned to dust! Still fond of that setup to this day!
