Seller offering 3 year warranty, new item, has 20k sales, and claims to be authorized Siglent seller. Whats the problem?

I've held off pulling the trigger on the DS1074Z because of availability and limited bandwidth.   If the SDS2000 can hold up to 90% of its promises, it's an amazing deal.  And yet, there's no reviews.  And I know that an Asian oscilloscope without a review is like playing Russian roulette.

What do you think?

Sounds very familiar. If you have some gambling budget you could go for it. It sure has an interesting risk/reward ratio, but for me the risk (as well as the base price) was a little too high. So I chickened and went for the DS1074Z, in no small part due reviews. Despite the availability issues ...

But as said, if you have some budget for a bit of a gamble it could turn out to be a vewy vewy nice deal. :) Or it could be total shit.  :scared: Who knows.  ;D

I put an offer down of $1150 USD.  We'll see...

Good luck.
The only other thing I would mention, seems it is a "base" machine with the options enabled for only the first 30 starts. Then they each must be purchased and are coded specifically for each machine.
They are individually: AWG, Decode, MSO and Power analysis.

As for the comment on images previously, authorized agents have a library of Siglent supplied imagery for advertising.

That's actually a good thing.  I'm hoping to be able to document all it's extended functions.

I heard that it was sold very well in China now.

I doubt it.

As do Rigol dealers, Agilent dealers, Tek dealers, Fluke dealers, ad infinitum.  It's industry standard practice for manufs. to supply images and other marketing materials to their dealers and distributors.  Tequipment, for example, certainly doesn't take their own pictures of all the products they carry!

I have no idea where Hydrawork was coming from on this.  Perhaps he'd like to see a photograph of a stack of boxes, ready to ship out?   :-/O  Maybe what he's trying to say, in an oblique way, is he doesn't think they exist yet.

The dealer didn't give me a big price break on the scope.  They said my bid was below their paper thin margin.  Doesn't matter, I'm mentally committed.  I pulled the trigger and will probably get the unit in about 7-10 days.  I'll spend a week or so working with it and do a review.  I don't know if I'll do a full video as I am not setup for that.  But I will record a clip of the UI transitioning between menu options, memory zoom, etc. so everyone can get a feel for the speed.

Well done!
It is a nice scope, and well featured. Hope you like it.
Be aware there is still some forecast firmware to come.

Ah, well, "Availability: In stock" at the top.  And below, "Not currently stocked, but available to backorder. Contact us for an estimate on shipping time."   :o   :-//

I think somebody needs some website work.

Nice! If my next scope isn't an Agilent, I know where to look now.
I'm not saying we should kill all stupid people. I'm just saying that we should remove all product safety labels and let natural selection do its work.

As long the MSO option isn't available I'll wait a bit longer, because of any suprise listed as Options.
And it is from februari on.... :=\

Last I heard the MSO option has been sent out for appraisal and testing.
However if a unit ships with the MSO port, then when the latest firmware(soon I believe) is released the MSO will be operative.
But it is probably easier to order DSO with MSO option enabled, then you will get the cable with the scope.

Was thinking he might be able to remove the intensity knob once set, but appears to be used for menus.

I've supposedly got the firmware for the logic probe, but I have no logic probe module to test it with.

I saw mjlorton's video on the SDS2072 where he mentioned the trigger out problem.  I have a SDS2074 and captured some small bits on video.  Here they are.

Profuse apologies for production values.  I don't have a decent video camera yet and I didn't intend on publishing any of this.  Note: I never got the unit to trigger any faster than 78K wfrms/sec.

Unless you have purchased the MSO option, the unit will not ship with the probe set.
