Can someone to explain me what "Power analysis" option mean?
More specifically what software features are included in this option because I did not find anywhere details about that?
At siglent.eu I saw only the additional price but there is no any info about that option.
I think this option is the same of Agilent Power measurement on 3000X series.
You can refer to this link, http://www.home.agilent.com/agilent/eventDetail.jspx?cc=CA&lc=eng&ckey=2101566&nid=-33573.0&pid=1940898

Thanks, kebogen.  So in a nutshell there, "...the Power Measurements option on the InfiniiVision 3000 X-Series oscilloscope can help you characterise switching power supplies automatically, consistently, and fast."  Looks like it's focused on SMPS.

And to review, from tautech...

Siglent SDS2000 series Option pricing
As of late last year and with no notified changes to date: All RRP
...
Power Analysis  US$318

Assuming the functionality is similar (yeah, I know), that's a $1,533 option on the Agilent.

Yeah, you are right, it's focused on SMPS, but it has lots of other functions, refer to http://www.home.agilent.com/en/pd-2020991-pn-DSOX3PWR/power-measurements-for-the-infiniivision-3000-x-series-oscilloscopes?nid=-35491.991684&cc=CA&lc=eng
What I care is that Input line analysis and Power device analysis function, maybe siglent will give me a surprise. >:D
I'll wait for it.

Sorry to bring this back up but is there any reviews on this scope? The specs seem very solid but how is the quality, support, display, firmware? I have to buy a scope very soon and I hear that the Rigol DS2000s are slow and can't be hacked anymore, the GW Insteks are great quality but have some display issues and are missing some fine adjustments. I have no question that Rigol and GW Instek are very good quality but has anyone used the Siglent enough to give a fair comparison? Aligents would be great but are out of my home office budget as are Tektronics.  Am I missing any others? I would like to buy a 4 channel 200Mhz scope.

No formal reviews as yet. I believe our Dave will get one for review, no doubt when Siglent are satisfied that development is sufficient for his critical appraisal.  They have just been released(the DSO version only at this stage).
The MSO option is on evaluation and probably not too far from release. Siglent are good with their support and as is this is quite a new product, expect more firmware releases for bug fixes.
A few members have evaluation units and I know of another that will get a MSO version for testing.
I have an evaluation SDS2304 with AWG and Decode options. Both options function as expected, but not tested intensively. There are still a few little "fixes" required for the base unit.
It is a well featured DSO with good specs for the price.

Is the DSO a firmware upgrade to a MSO or a module addition? It seems to have the port on the front already.

How was the over all quality?

Thanks Mark_O but I had typed reply already.

I believe that full production runs will have the MSO port as std.(it is omitted on mine (beta unit))
Options will be enabled for 30 power cycles.
The MSO option will be able to be activated with a purchased option code(includes MSO test lead) before or after customer purchase. As yet there is no information on MSO pricing.
Build quality is good as others have stated.

I found one supplier in Europe, but they mention free shipping to the US
http://www.sainsmart.com/siglent-sds2072-super-phosphor-oscilloscope-70mhz-2-ch2gsa-s.html

weird, the images is the MSO one but the price doesn't look like it will be.
Edit: nevermind, it has it all, but it's software upgradable so must be the right one

Contact Siglent sales directly and they can put you on to your local distributor.
Latest SDS2000 series all come with MSO port AFAIK and MSO functionality is enabled for 30 starts, then must be bought. When option is bought (pre-purchase or post-purchase) the MSO lead will then be supplied.

A few points from me:
1) I'd still like to see an official samplerate versus channels enabled list.
2) Can digital and analog channels be displayed at the same time?
3) Does decoding work on analog and digital channels?
Hi nctnico,
I'm sorry for replying late, if you have any problems later, please email to support@siglent.com.
We will reply you in 24 hours.
Here is a simply reply to you questions, if you want more information, please send email to support email box.
1, The highest sampling rate is 2GSa/s, when you turn on CH1 or CH2 or CH3 or CH4 is 2GSa/s, (CH1 and CH3) or (CH2 and CH4) is 2GSa/s,
    (CH1 and CH2) or (CH3 and CH4) is 1GSa/s
2,  Digital and analog channels can be displayed at the same time
3, Decode works on analog channels for serial trigger and decode. (IIC, SPI, UART/RS232, CAN, LIN)

These explanations are very different from the retailer.
So If we hope to decode 4-Wire SPI,we have to purchase 4ch model like SDS2074?
And 8ch logic probe works by merely logic timing analysis?

Nope.  You missed the followup discussion.

Siglent explained that, 'I said "Decode works on analog channels for serial trigger and decode" means Decode button on the front panel is used for analog channels, Digital button controls the 8 digital channels, the digital channels support decoding, too.'  So you can decode 4-wire SPI on a 2-channel model with the digital option.  Which I was happy to hear.  And the logic probe can be used for more than just logic timing.  Up to 500 MSa/s with 14M sample depth.   :-+

For full Decode functionality, you must acquire the decode option as well.
But the Decode triggering suite is standard.
I had some early problems with decode errors, however it has been fixed with firmware.

Hello.
Thanks for the kind explanation, and sorry for my confusion.
I thought what you explained.LOL.
And now again,I think,I am okay with 2 ch model like SDS2072.
In website,I read the trigger is hardware-based,so is it right also decode is hardware-based?LOL
Considering the price, when I get them from China, very attractive price range.
Anyway,thanks indeed.
I hope somebody up the review on youtube, especially about I2C decoding at first.

No problem.  I was initially confused myself.

I'm pretty sure the answer to that will be no.  And that you knew that already.  ;)

But I have to say that I'm vastly more interested in accurate decoding, and decoding of Segmented captures, than I am in super-fast decodes.  Hopefully we'll get the first two.

I am so tempted...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/301134478291?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I've held off pulling the trigger on the DS1074Z because of availability and limited bandwidth.   If the SDS2000 can hold up to 90% of its promises, it's an amazing deal.  And yet, there's no reviews.  And I know that an Asian oscilloscope without a review is like playing Russian roulette.

What do you think?

EDIT:  The seller offers a 30 day, I pay shipping return policy.   I think I'm going to go for it.

Sounds very familiar. If you have some gambling budget you could go for it. It sure has an interesting risk/reward ratio, but for me the risk (as well as the base price) was a little too high. So I chickened and went for the DS1074Z, in no small part due reviews. Despite the availability issues ...

But as said, if you have some budget for a bit of a gamble it could turn out to be a vewy vewy nice deal. :) Or it could be total shit.  :scared: Who knows.  ;D
