JBC T245-A Soldering tip for SMD (down to 0402)
« on: March 27, 2020, 09:20:00 pm »
Hi!

So I recently have gone the extra mile and bought myself a worthy soldering iron!
But a worthy soldering iron needs also a worthy tip!

I got myself some tips but they are better for heavy stuff, I expected something smaller, could not judge from the datasheet correctly.

So what would you use for SMD work, rework? I usually don´t go under 0402 in packages and 0.4mm pitch and I have bigger tips to handle bigger stuff.

I looking for something in the "Louis Rossmann" micro-pencil category, but I could be wrong so I would like some suggestions before I go out and spend 100€ on tips :-P

Thanks!

Bevor i got the c210 handle i used C245-731 tip down to 0201 with no problem, for 0402 is normaly use C245-906.
But if you want a smaller handle you normaly can use the C210 handle on the same station like C245.
I absolutely love the C210, the tips i use on this are C210-008, C210-021 and for realy small things C210-009.
For ICs i would take a bevel or spoon tip.

I haven't got a T210 handle but i use : Sometimes the Spoons (C245-965 or C245-938) or C245-030 or C245-937 beside the normal 906 / 907/ 908 it depends on what you want to solder.
For example if it is really small but on a 10layer board i will use C245-937 because it is better than C245-030 which can't get enough heat into the pad.
