SIGLENT SDS3034X HD rate of rise measurement
« on: September 06, 2024, 08:28:24 am »
Hi

I need some help.

I'm using the scopes automatic measurement function, looking at the 10-90% rise time measurement.

The measuement is super off. It is not showing correct at all.

A LeCroy wavesurfer is showing ~575ns 10-90% measurement which is pretty accurate compared to manually measuring with cursors.
The Siglent scope is showing 260-300ns using the 10-90%  measurement
I try to change the threshold values between % and absolute values, no difference
I change the amplitude strategy between histogram and MAX-MIN values, no difference
I go to Analysis and change the analysis gate, no difference
I go to Analysis and change the histogram gates, no difference

Also the measurement values is constantly jumping on the y-axis

This is like the most standard easy measurement and this scope can't do it

Ok,

So I tested another scope we have, same 10-90% measurement and that one shows correct.

So I copy that ones setup to the scope showing wrong but still same. It cannot measure 10-90%.
Doing a self calibration right now....

That's weird.
Try to set Cursors Mode to Measure, it will show you how the measured value come from.
That may give more information to find out what's going wrong.

Ok, after 1h selfcalibration over lunch the bad oscilloscope still showed wrong read on the rise times.

I hooked up the good one and recorded with cursors on measure on CH2 rise time.

Then I connected the bad scope and wanted to record how that ones cursor measure behaved.

After restarting the bad scope, the measurements seem to work fine...
