Do any of you already have one of these new black SDS2000X HD scopes in your hands?  :)

I'm curious if there are any differences between the first white and the current darkgrey generation and if so, what they are.  :o

I cannot believe that Siglent only change the outer shell and nothing more...  8)

Cheers Chris

If they had changed more, they wouldn't call it 2000X HD.
All 12 bit scopes are in the dark housing(6000pro H10/H12 excluded), now also the 2000X HD series.

I was expecting mine to be the dark grey but it is white (which is just fine with me!). It has been on order for months.

Welcome to the forum.

It was quite evident in late Feb when SDS800X HD, SDS1000X HD and SDS3000X HD were released, all in black clothes, that SDS2000X HD might follow also....then a few spotted updated pictures showing SDS2000X HD in dark clothes too.
It makes perfect sense IMO that all the 12bit models have this point of distinction over their 8bit cousins.

Does anybody know why the bandwidth of the AWG is lower compared to SDS2000X non-HD series ?
It looks like they both use SAG1021 but one is limited to 25Mhz whereas the other is limited to 50Mhz sine.
Has anyone tried to change the NSP_limit_data to get back to 50Mhz ?
Maybe it was causing too much interferences ?

Anyway, 50Mhz was quite distorted on the non HD so it is not a big loss but I did miss that difference before buying.

As far as I can remember, the AWG on the 2000X non-HD is integrated on the board, while the 2000X HD actually has a dedicated device installed via an internal USB port.
I don't know if they are the same, but the size of the dedicated board in the HD alone suggests that this is not the case.

I think there was also a menu where it was listed as SAG1021 on the old 2K+ but I am not 100% sure. And it is possible, that indeed it was not integrated in the same way, even if they called it the same.

What I find a bit troubling to is that the SDS3K+ which uses the external SAG1021I, which goes officially up to 25Mhz, can go to 50Mhz:
https://eleshop.fr/catalog/product/view/id/5371/s/generateur-de-fonctions-siglent-sag1021i/category/530/
https://eleshop.fr/siglent-50-mhz-waveform-generator-software-option.html
So I am wondering if there is really an hardware limitation or more of a software lock.

Interesting :)
So it is indeed more a software limitation than a hardware limitation. Looks like SDS1K which can use the external SAG1021I could benefit from that too.

My new toy arrived today! I was pleasantly surprised by how perfectly it fits on top of the "tower of power (analysis?)."

I was also happy to see it came with a set of 4 SP5050A 500MHz probes...which are only mostly useless to me since I usually need at least a 400V limit, and also never go that high in freq. Still cool though! 😉

TBH I was a little disappointed by the metal handle. Maybe I was a too excited for it? But I thought it was this big huge thing, and the handle just matches the rest of the case. Not shiny, didn't give me handy or anything. I guess there was simply too much hype about the metal handle.

The scope feels faster and more responsive than my previous Plus model. Me likey.

I updated to the latest firmware and self cal only took about 5 minutes. I noticed they only made the 16LA option free in this model in the fw update. I guess only the models with an external FG get it added free.

Thanks,
Josh

I do plan on doing the demo board over again. I pulled out the board and my fake SPL2016 as soon as I ordered the scope. 😉

are dust caps included with the three BNC sockets on the back?

Impressive setup! The scope looks like it wants to be bolted down when balancing on that tower, or at least tied to a safety rope.  ;)

I hope the metal handle is at least nice and cool to the touch? As long as one does not fondle it for too long, of course... :)

Hello,

I didn't have them, is that a sign that my device is a return?

Thank you! I know you have more toys than me though. 😉😉

There's a strap on the back that will be connected, and Velcro on the feet will be connected also. I don't trust gravity either.

It's like 31°C today, so the handle wasn't even cold. 😭

My “Tower of Power” is just waiting for the lower compartment to be filled again with the successor to my SML01. ;)
