As these scopes do not have a RTC they cannot keep a time setting.
For want of a $0.25 chip, eh?
And a battery.
But, almost all 1000 series scopes from all brands do not offer a RTC and it has been this way for many years.
I did not know a NTP capability was coming for these 4ch X-E but to do the new Logging feature properly of course some timekeeping was required and if we look back several new features have been introduced to these great little scopes that demonstrates Siglent are listening to you all and obviously there was spare memory and processing capability to add all this new stuff.
In any case, yeah, that's what I did. I dug out a small 5 port switch and mounted it on my bench behind the SDS1104, the SDG1032 and the SDM3055. Now they are all surfing the net and seems quite content.
Thanks tautech.
