Non-Panda look of Siglent SDS6000 PRO
« on: July 11, 2020, 11:18:59 pm »
The SDS6000X Pro would have looked much better without the Panda look!

The screen should have a white bezel to avoid the "not enough margin in the upper-left corner" look :)

Who prefers the Non-Panda look better as well? :)

But now the screen looks so much smaller!  :palm:
There are small lies, big lies and then there is what is on the screen of your oscilloscope.

Doesn't matter. It looks smaller.

Panda is less distracting.. no need for the fluff bezels

Soon someone will make an affordable bench scope that is all glass minus the connectors and i shall buy it.. give it a few more years

The Non-Panda look with the white bezel looks much nicer! No discussion here :)

The Panda look with the black bezel and the "not enough margin in the upper left corner" look, looks ugly.

To me the "Panda" look is nicer. It jas a LeCroy Wavepro or Tek MDO feel to it.

However, as I mentioned when Dave criticized Instek's GDS1054 look: when a review's only criticism is in the looks, you can rest assured you have a good product out there.

If that's so why doesn't the non-panda have the bottom scrollbar present?  Because it's smaller in this badly photoshoped pic.

Amen to that. IMHO it is totally idiotic to judge tools by how they look.

Oh I wouldn't know...
I have met my fair share of tools in my life, and their look was more often than not a dead giveaway.

Correction, you feel the white bezel looks nicer. Your opinion has been noted. You may go on with your life now.

Or what?

The original looks fine, it's your botched Photoshop job that's ugly.

I like the Panda look, too.  I think the information at the edges of the screen is easier to read.  With the high contrast border it seems more difficult to read.

I will indeed get off the panda wheel, in contrast to the LeCroy WavePro and Tek MDO aficionados ;)

But it's never too late to follow me!

The only value in this topic has been the cute pics of pandas - both the ones on the slide and the scope!
At least that makes it an improvement on some of the other recent posts by pascal.

I tend to disagree. The panda wheel <-> hamster wheel thing doesn't make any sense even to a native speaker.
BTW: the original design looks much better to me and would do so even if you hadn't cropped quite a few pixels on the right side.

I don't need to "speak" German to read it and have basic comprehension.  While I am far from fluent, I did learn it at high school a long time ago and did pretty well as I enjoyed it far better than French.  We are pretty multi-cultural here in Australia.

If anything your recent posts have shown you have a preference for the old fashioned dull off-white aesthetics and scope UI's, and dislike anything slightly more modern or progressive.

I tend to disagree. The panda wheel <-> hamster wheel thing doesn't make any sense even to a native speaker.

It made as much sense as the rest of his post.

Call it a panda wheel, a hamster wheel, or a bunch of followers.

I really feel sorry for those who can't have an opinion of their own, and just have to like and follow whatever LeCroy and Tek comes up with.

Why is everybody here on the perpetual hamster wheel of the corporate lecture circuit?

You think we don't have our own opinions simply because we don't always agree with you.
Wow, you are so obtuse!

I have made my point. I don't like the Panda look.

You have made your point. You adore the Panda look.

End of discussion.

Why did I bring up the panda wheel?

1) I got offended by the Photoshop remark below.

Just because I gave my own opinion and used a rough sketch, why should one make such a remark at the start of a thread?

The Panda look with the black bezel and the "not enough margin in the upper left corner" look, looks ugly.
The original looks fine, it's your botched Photoshop job that's ugly.

Don't quit your day job - you suck both at Photoshop and attempts at being funny.

2) You just like and follow whatever LeCroy and Tek comes up with.

Get a life in the zoo Mr. Panda!

Quite cute of you to call out everyone a lemming and twist our posts and the thread with a fallacious argument.

People declared their own opinions and not tried to convince you to change yours; then you got butt hurt, deflected and declared everyone a shill in the process. Grow up.
