The 6% Saelig discount isn't worth it for me. If I order on Amazon from Saelig and specify SHIP TO AMAZON HUB COUNTER, then it refuses to let me buy it, and nags that there are
special handling requirements that can't be met by the hub counter.
However, if I buy it direct from Amazon, it CAN be shipped to their hub counter instead of
left abandoned on my doorstep.
Guess which one I'm going to choose? Hmmm. 32 bucks less, but someone steals a $500 scope before I get home, or 32 bucks more and I can guarantee that it ends up in my hands. That's pretty much a no-brainer.
I'd trust the hub counter WAY more than the sub-human delivery trolls that Amazon uses. A couple of times they've obviously tossed a package out the window of a moving car into my front yard as if it were a newspaper. Yeah, NOT going to leave a scope purchase to their crack-head delivery service. Fedex and UPS slightly better, but it still sits on my doorstep until I get home. At least they don't toss it into the yard like a Frisbee.
