If the problem come back, I would say to send it back.
My scope (SDS1204X-HD) in about 8 months didn't manifest such issue.

I just got my SDS1204X HD, and while testing I noticed unresponsiveness of the ch1 and ch2 buttons. Then in keyboard test mode the keys were also unresponsive.
After a while with fiddeling around with the keys they became responsive, it was almost like there was some dirt on the pcb or something and the fiddeling made the contacts clean enough to work.

Same here(3000X HD), but with other keys.
I reported this to one of the beta-testers, because I dónt think it´s a hardware issue.
