Hitachi V-222: My $50 Oscilloscope
« on: August 01, 2013, 02:00:25 pm »
eBay auction: #http://www.ebay.com/itm/181166528108

Inspired by Dave's recent video, I purchased my first oscilloscope on eBay and just got it in yesterday. I had to give it a serious wipe-down. It came from a grungy physics department somewhere. Nevertheless, everything works except for the x5 gain on channel 2, which with some fiddling I can get it to works but it is very touchy. Overall, I am very satisfied with the purchase.

The picture above is from the listing. This Flickr set http://flic.kr/s/aHsjHdoEYP has some pictures of it after the cleanup.

Grats!  :-+

Yes, the 'your first scope' feeling, too bad it can only happen once...

Finally lost my 'scope virginity. All my friends got their first test equipment in high school.
