Solartron 7061 wont store cal constants
« on: May 24, 2021, 02:45:46 pm »
Hello Everyone!
I got a Solartron 7061 in a pretty good (optical) condition. Today I was able to calibrate it with a precision voltage source. Seems to be well within specs afterwards.
Only, when I powercycle the unit, it seems to loose calibration. Values are way off, just as before calibration. I already changed the internal battery, but as I understand, it is only for settings history, not for calibration constants.
I do use the refresh command, it gives me a DONE back. After power cycling, I can see the custom string I entered as "date", so I assume IC113 is at least partially good...
Anyone an idea whats happening here?
Thank you
M.

Did you enter the refresh command ?

From the maintenance manual, page 2.22:

Have you tried calibrating it and then NOT refreshing before a power cycle?
A 3.5 digit 4.5 digit 5 digit 5.5 digit 6.5 digit 7.5 digit DMM is good enough for most people.

Yes right now. Did not work. The date string is stored though. I ordered two spare eeproms, maybe IC113 has some weird faulty bytes.
What puzzles me is that "REFRESH" should verify the eeprom contents and give me an error in case of a fault.
