What is the one on the lower right?

A 3.5 digit 4.5 digit 5 digit 5.5 digit 6.5 digit 7.5 digit DMM is good enough for most people.

It's an AOPUTRIVER AP-48B.

It also come under the brands HOLDPEAK  and ANMETER.  The UI is interesting but it ends there.  When I bought that it was $20, but now I see them for quite a bit more (like over $40).  It was barely worth the $20 and was bought to see how effective a cheap lab set-up would be.  For that purpose it has been replaced by the Kaiweets HT118E.  Although a lot more money, the Kaiweets is actually worth it's price.

Not at all.

With just a couple bench meters with multiplexing cards and you have 36 channels !
I'd say you have some catching up to do.  :P

13 is nothing! I'm sure there's people here who own 13 Fluke 87Vs.

I'd have kept this one secret though...

BTW, my 3rd and 4th meters are there.

I once stood patiently in line at an electronics shop while a guy complained that he bought one of those and it wasn't very accurate when reading mains AC voltage.

I have one of those mini-VOMs, and for a good reason.
In 1996 I worked for the local representative of a major brand computer company.
To spare taxes, this local company decided to convert all technical employees that earned above a certain salary in contract workers.
That meant almost no money for the pension fond, and we should also provide our own tools.  >:(
Not being willing to risk my private owned Fluke to be stolen, I just bought the mini-VOM and checked with a power supply and a DMM, the reading for 5V, 12V, etc
In 1998, I left the company for a better job.

Nice!

Those old Microntas just keep ticking.

My first 4 meters were from RS.  The very first got destroyed.  The 2nd got sold so I could buy the 3rd.  A little while later the 4th was purchased.  They are both still working.  My 5th meter, however, was (for me at the time - equivalent to about $700 today) a very expensive Fluke 8024A.  It died.  The cheap Micronta meters keep on going...

How could 13 possibly be too many? I have 20 (Fluke T5-1000 is in my toolbag at work), and I know very well that it isn't enough!

And I didn't even include my scope-meters...   :scared:

I think its like anything the correct number is n+1 where n is the number you currently have.

I must say its a poor show so far, with no AVO meters. tut tut

What exactly qualifies as "multimeter" here ?
Current clamp, insulation resistance, earth resistance, PAT / MFT's?
Do they count in the "situation" if they're not working or for sale?
Very subjective... I wouldn't have counted Mastech or Uni-T in.

Any meter that is:

 1) Hand held

2) Has more than one function (VO at least).

So that kind of excludes PAT / MFT's that are mostly shoulder / neck laced, it could lead to the Scopemeter category however, although one may argue that their main intent is scoping not metering.

An AVO minor is OK (my second MM) but I don't think an AVO 8 really qualifies as HH. Unless you're a gorilla. Pretty sure the 8 is heavier than some of my bench meters.

Thanks for the topic BillyO, I beleive we do have a bit of a "situation", it was a good excuse to realise I need more therapy, I found no hope in the TEA group...
Tried to keep this to the most conventional HH DMM form factor, leaving out the insulation testers, clamp meters and scopemeters. A poor little Fluke 21 got left out from the photo session.

No pictures right now but from memory:

- Fluke 287
- Fluke 867B
- UNI-T UT61E
- UNI-T UT33C
- UNI-T UT210E
- Amprobe 5XP-A
- a few nonames like DT830 / XL-830 etc

I feel like a need a Brymen just because.

I just remembered that there is a 41 page pre-existing thread. Well worth a browse (if you ignore everything grey and yellow!)...

P.S. A lot of the image links have sadly disappeared, a good example of why it is important to upload them here.

I use just two handheld meters (Fluke 87 III and 189), and bench meters like the Keithley 199 or 2000 if I need more. For a continuity measurement, or a quick resistance / voltage measurement, I'll use handheld. But for anything where I'd need multiple, like monitoring outputs, power rails or power draw while testing something, I'll use a bench meter. I find it very hard to find space for multiple handhelds on my bench. I can't imagine setting up half a dozen handheld meters so you can see all their displays at the same time. A stack with bench meters together with power supplies, function generators etc works better for me.
