Hello, I thought I would share my attempt as well.
I have an Agilent E4404B I'm repairing.
Out of curiosity, I decided to try enabling option 1DR(Narrow RBW) and 1DS(3G pre amp)

I followed the steps here:
https://xdevs.com/doc/HP_Agilent_Keysight/HP_key_license_generators/FlexLM_Keygen_Haldir/HP_Agilent_FlexLM_keygen.docx
Got the FlexLM software here, (Bottom of the thread, also included here):
https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/hp-agilent-e4433b-esg-d-series-signal-generator-250khz-4-0ghz/28/

And successful. Both optioned installed.

The Narrow RBW still doesn't work. But I believe it's an easy fix. Will need a GPIB adapter first tho.
https://docs.keysight.com/kkbopen/i-ve-upgraded-my-esa-with-option-1dr-narrow-resolution-bandwidths-yet-the-instrument-will-not-go-below-a-1-khz-bandwidth-why-is-this-589744737.html

Will update when I find a GPIB adapter

I have E4402B, latest firmware version A.14.06. I also wanted to activate option 1DR - narrow RBW (below 1kHz). I have got license key and it was successfully activated, however I was not able to go below 1kHz resolution.

I have tried solution mentioned on Keysight forum as I have exactly the same setup, means software activated 1DR option but without 1D5 hardware option (high stability frequency reference) being physically installed.
https://docs.keysight.com/kkbopen/i-ve-upgraded-my-esa-with-option-1dr-narrow-resolution-bandwidths-yet-the-instrument-will-not-go-below-a-1-khz-bandwidth-why-is-this-589744737.html

However this command sent over GPIB didn't work for me, regardless I tried several attempts including slight modification of  that command :MMEM:DEL 'C:SYSTEM\DEFCONF'      :(

Finally I decided to try brute force approach. I have erased flash memory, disconnected internal backup battery for a while, and then installed whole firmware package from the scratch. To my surprise, all hardware related options (e.g. 1DR, 1D6, etc) was kept activated and I didn't need to active those again. However all options based on personality software (e.g. option 226) were gone and I had to activate those licenses again plus installed appropriate personality software packages.

After this process (took 3 hours including physical disassembly to reach internal battery), 1DR option is finally working properly and I can set RBW down to 10Hz (minimum available without 1D5 option installed).  :)

BTW, here is excellent description of all available options, installation instructions, dependencies on specific hardware or if adjustment is required after installation. For example option 1DS (internal preamp), even I could activate it on my ESA I decided not to do so because after activation adjustment is needed to achieve expected accuracy, but I don't have software needed for adjustment.

Hello PA0PBZ!
I have E4407B with serial number MY45114949 and HostID: 41429463.
Could you generate license code for options 219 and option 1DS?
I check on my equipment and it has 4 cards: A4H:GPIB & Paralled; BAA:FM Demod; AYX:Fast Sweep & Ports; Frequency Extension. Please see picture I attached. With my equipment, Can I install option 219?
Thank you.

I do not have an ESA myself so I can't say if the option will work in your equipment, just give it a try?

I was one of the original workers on this to enable options and we were very clear at that time that we were not going to be posting codes here on EEVBLOG.
after it seems others took it on themselves to ignore our ask to not so do and started posting codes and instead having users do it themselves, I lost all respect for the community and why I have not posted in many years or replied to posts on this topic (or frankly others)

Just felt I had to say that.

I WILL NOT PROVIDE CODES to anyone myself.
Doing so is a risk to this site, Dave and those who developed the keygens.

I only post codes for obsolete equipment where obtaining them from the vendor is impossible. I also refuse to help people when I suspect that it is not for personal use, so when they ask for example for the 3rd time for an ESA series I send them away. Yes you were involved in the ESA work, but that's not what I use to generate the codes, it's general FlexLM. As you know it is based on the HOSTID so it will only work for that specific equipment. I think Dave is pretty capable to let me/us know when we should not post these on the forum and so far I have not seen any complaints from him but feel free to report this to the moderators.

Obsolete or not, we never intending to openly post keys here.  we provided instructions on how to do this yourself
those of us at the time felt it was best to do so.

and btw, obsolete does not mean a company will not come after you should they choose to.
And FlexLM is what we used so not sure how this is different if that's what you're saying.

at any rate, I said my piece,  going back to ignoring the forum and PM's
