Looking for Terminal Name
« on: August 07, 2021, 03:01:26 am »
Hello, I'm looking for the name of a specific screw terminal for the ac input of a Chroma 62000 Series Power supply.
Here is the datasheet: https://www.valuetronics.com/pub/media/vti/datasheets/Chroma%2062000P%20Series.pdf

It is for the ac input shown in item 20 below:

The full cable is available on ebay for $90, but basically I only need the terminal.
Although, it is a large size screw terminal, so I'm not sure term to search for/where to find it.

Thanks in advance if you can point me in the right direction :)

I believe it is called a pluggable blade socket connector
Measure the pitch between the centre of the blades - common are 0.3", 0.4", and some similar metric sizes
Brands are Amphenol, Phoenix Contact, Wurth, etc
See Digikey part 609-4134-ND for something similar - not sure that is the right size though, and you don't need the captive screws

They look a lot like these on aliexpress:

https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/32863211897.html

They come in different number of contacts.

Not exactly.  The ones used here will likely be rated for something like 32A.  So they have wider pitch and blades instead of pins.

I'm not sure but it looks like the pitch is 0.3"
The closest matches I could find were these two:

https://www.digikey.be/product-detail/en/1777736/277-2435-ND/2743636?itemSeq=373868656
https://www.digikey.be/product-detail/en/1804917/277-5760-ND/349122?itemSeq=373868657

The hooking tabs don't match but I figure I can clip them out.

Plug for a Phoenix Contact PC 4 or PC 5 type header?

Catalogue section (PDF): https://dam-mdc.phoenixcontact.com/asset/156443151564/4f3d4915e2b90191bc741839b70f4293/CAT_8_2020_EN_LoRes.pdf

Have a look around page 400 and greater.

After I desoldered the connector from the device I found it: it's a ECH880-03P from Dinkle.
The mating terminal block would be the EC880V-03P. But I can't find a source.

I probably will change it to a standard C13 connector for me.

It sure does look like it but the dimensions seems off. The EC880V-03P seems to have a pitch of 8.8mm (weird one that, Digikey didn't have a single one with 8.8mm pitch), however the one in your photo certainly LOOKS to be a lot closer to 7.62 than 8.8.

Perhaps it's just the fact that the face of the pins are further back than the ruler, making the pins appear closer together than they actually are.

I'm complety shure it's such a wired connector. I can't find a second one with 8.8mm pitch, too. Because the chambers are all equal, the picture with the caliper should show you the 8.8mm :)
I tried to take a picture of the 'label' of the connector, but it's really hard to see the text. I tried my best to make it visible.

I replaced it in my unit with a C13 socket yesterday. For me in Europe it is completly fine, because the input current will be lower than 10A.
