I know that the DS1054Z is a much better buy - The reasons for going digital is weight/volume, robustness, and singleshot/record-features.. I'm using it primarily for automotive use, ie. slow signals.. But bumping around with the CRT isn't that great i think.
I don't think my analog is that good for non-repetetive signals, the waveform is jumping all over the screen, it is impossible (for me at least) to adjust correct. Have a look at this thread, where i'm asking the question about a bouncing waveform;
https://www.eevblog.com/forum/beginners/noise-question/I use the scope 5-10 times a year, so really not something i want to spend a fortune on.
EDIT:
The DS1054Z is like 299€ from Batronix.com - I've got a VAT number.. With 239€ for the DS1052E, brand new. The used one should be cheaper. Maybe i'll bid him 150€ MAX.. Considering the new scopes are with warranty and all. This used DS1052E can be 5 years old..
I think i'm going for a brand new 1054Z, if he won't accept my bid.
I really didn't know the new ones were SO cheap.. Thanks for the pointers!
