SDM3055 Poor Autoranging and Wrong Measurements
« on: February 24, 2022, 02:06:53 am »
Hello,

I've noticed before that my SDM3055 has had some difficulty adjusting it's autorange to the correct range but now it all together is off. It reads around 200 Ohms when nothing is connected and if I manually change the range the resistance changes to some value about halfway in the range. If I switch to 4 wire it drifts from anywhere between -100 and 100 Ohms (sometimes 0) depending on if I'm touching the front panel which is strange. I checked all the fuses and they're fine so if anyone has any helpful information that would be useful. I'll try to post some videos of it acting up if I can.

Thanks

OK thanks.
I know of no other units that behave like this so I suggest you contact your supplier with the view to claiming warranty for a faulty unit.

This looks like faulty unit.

The result in 4 wire mode is actually undefined if connection is made between the sense and drive part. Ideally the meter should give an error. In some cases it may auto range to the highest range and with some meters the high ranges are 2 wire only, even of 4 wire is selected.

This looks like faulty unit.
It is.
Factory tech support requests it be returned to Siglent NA for repair.
Siglent NA have also been copied in so will be expecting it.

Please contact: info@siglentna.com
Supply full info about the unit and a link to this thread is also a good idea.
