Tektronix 2340A - Screen flicker with "smooth" on ?
« on: April 28, 2018, 10:24:29 pm »
I just replaced it's 2nd CCD hybrid and I'm happy to say it pass all self-tests and self cal for once.

Just wondering about why the screen intensity flickers pretty bad @~5Hz (the screen flickering is 5Hz) when the "smooth" function under the bandwidth is selected. I'm guessing 'smooth' uses the CPU a lot to average out small peaks, and draw a much smoother trace.

Happens with a single ch, so it's not the beam working 2x as hard or anything. But the intensity of the whole screen drops down quite a bit.

I'm going to take it all apart again this summer, might of had a 5V problem too but I never figured it out. This time the PSU will make a lot more sense to me.
