Hey guys,
I'm new here. So please forgive me if I am replying incorrectly or posting in the wrong place.
I am going to buy a new low-budget multimeter. I was thinking about the Uni-t 61E+, because of its good abilities.
What, specifically, calls your attention?
It isn't a meter that I'd personally buy. You can get the same accuracy for less
money (eg. AN870) and I don't put the UT61E+ in the "safe" meter category.
The ONLY reason I'd advise somebody to buy a UT61E is for the data logging
ability. If you don't need that then there's no compelling reason to buy one.
But after reading some posts, now I am not sure. The Fluke 15B or 17B can meet my needs. And I can afford them.
What do you recommend?
Are they really better? do they make a difference in work?
They're certainly better built, safer, and more reliable.
I'd prefer a Brymen for best value for money but if Brymen are difficult to
buy where you live then a Fluke 17B+ is a good choice.
There's good tests of both meters here:

And Fluke 17B (nb. old video of the original 17B model, not the 'plus'):
