Dear All,

I have a UT70A digital MM of which has broken slide contact of the range selector switch. I found some suitable slide contact but not sure to which position of them to be inserted. Please help me.

Picture of the selector switch and the MM main PCB are attached.

A great help.

If look at 120824 picture , take look of block of pcb tracks on upper righthand section , going down to bottom sees little pcb tracks ,,

Since slide contacts are x2 in other pictures each , it seems the very lower ones are 3?

But anyway , 2 pcb tracks each for contact , starting from top 2 , then 2 then 2 etcetera , then position switch above pcb and check and look from the side to follow suit , only trouble is lower 3?(maybe) .

Thank you GEuser.  Yes you are correct . The inner most 3 PCB are to be connected together.

My doubt is that can slide switch in the selector knob be in the opposite side aligning the same PCB track. The attached picture would give what I am trying to say.

Again thank you for the support.

No problem Sam01 I am happy you have it all sorted out

I posted the links as your multimeter was out of my depth as I did not realize that the selector had so much travel around until I actually looked the MM up , I really was going by the 180 degree turn like the one I had just serviced awhile back , all good , cheers ....

Ha Ha , hi Sam01 , you are much too generous with the idea of a job , to quite a few its a hobby as in the abridged Earth's Dictionary Definitions >

"Hobby" (a term on earth the planet) > Is What one does when there is nothing better to do .

Now all we have to figure out is the changing plastic white and plastic black/grey in the photo's , cheers ...
