R&S HMO HOO12 Scope Sale at TEquipment.Net
« on: July 29, 2015, 05:35:44 pm »
This is worth considering.  100 MHz upgrade included for a real R&S scope.  No idea how it compares with Agilent (Keysh...whatever, etc).  Possibly the EEV discount code applies too.

Seems to have some interesting features and options, especially for the price.

anyone know if this a true R&S product or a rebrand?

I couldn't immediately find the cost of the MSO logic probes.

It's a HAMEG. At a very good price I might add.

Sure, but Hameg == R&S.

Yep, you are right, R&S acquisition HAMEG some time back, however we all know R&S is top flight stuff. Before the take over though HAMEG made high quality test gear all the same. Old Hameg scopes go for good money on Ebay still.

I know, maybe I asking my question wrong. For example, LeCroy/Agilent/etc rebadge other manufacturers products under their own names. I am wondering if this R&S/Hameg scope is truly manufactured by the badged companies, or is an oursourced product.

It looks like a real Hameg scope, but the price is throwing me off...

If every option was enabled I'd order one to replace a 1054Z.

2 channels plus trigger would be enough for my use. The bonus would be a logic analyzer and a function generator(even if limited). But I would need all of the trigger and decode options.

Hameg scopes are not low cost by a long shot, in fact I was looking at Hameg scopes the other day and if that same scope was selling in the U.K., we would be paying in pounds(£) what you are paying in dollars($).In fact I'm quite envious of you guys in the States :popcorn:

Interesting. How does it compare to rigol 2072a? You can hack the Rigol  to 300mhz with a lot more memory(14 vs 1M) .

The DS2000 series has 54MPts of memory vs 1M for this scope, and twice the sample rate.

Hm... Somehow I fail to see why I should pay 1000$ for this scope while I can get the same/better (Scope + Signal-Generator with MUCH BETTER Specs and Counter, 6000count DMM) equipment for roughly the same amount by getting Rigol, Hantek, Owon or Siglent Equipment.
Did I miss something?

You can always choose for the Rigol MSO1000Z. Dunno how well it works but it is cheaper than the Hameg and has a higher display resolution.
There are small lies, big lies and then there is what is on the screen of your oscilloscope.

The MSO part is interesting, and the price seems ok. If I was in a market for a lower end MSO I am not sure I would consider it over a Rigol MSO1104Z though. It is better spec-wise in many ways. More analog channels, more digital channels, 3x higher waveform update rate, more memory..

I dunno, I hear the UI is pretty good on Hamegs, so that might be a factor in Hameg'a favor.

Not just the UI. The HMO also has a digital pattern generator, which is pretty rare. Plus it has much better FFT (128kpts) than any Rigol scope, and a much lower noise floor than the Rigols.

And the firmware that R&S/Hameg puts out is generally worlds apart from the bug feast that can be found in Rigol kit.

I asked for a quote last year. This is in aud, so gst=10% on top i suspect.

Hello Anthony:
I have just received your request for information on the HMO1002 Oscilloscope.
The pricing is as follows:
The base price of the HMO1002 is:
HMO1002 (50MHz) is $1,100
The option to take the unit to 70MHz is +$170 on the base price.
The option to go from 70MHz to 100MHz is +$170 on the base price.
The option to go from 50MHz to 100MHz is +$340 on the base price.

1100+340 = 1440 aud == 1047.53 US Dollar
Makes me doubt the $2200 list on tequipment.

I ended up getting a hmo722 for a good price on the forum.
---
(the 100 MHz version is 998 Euros) = 1090usd. So free Lin/Can decoder.
