Pricing :
http://www.testenmeetwinkel.nl/nl/producten/oscilloscopen/rohde-schwarz/rth_1002

E2790 for 60M base unit, but looks like everything is software upgradeable.
>E8K for 500M MSO with decodes

Captouch may compensate for the traditional problem with portable scopes - lack of knobs.

Youtube channel:Taking wierd stuff apart. Very apart.
Mike's Electric Stuff: High voltage, vintage electronics etc.
Day Job: Mostly LEDs

holy shit!
i know that probably it's competitor is the tektronix TPS but the price on this one is insane (4200 for 100 MHz + 969 euro for i2c/spi decoding???)
i also doesn't have a video output

baseprice on R&S shop is 3.685,00

Unfortunately R&S options are insanely expensive. I'd ask for a free option bundle and if no I'd buy something else.
There are small lies, big lies and then there is what is on the screen of your oscilloscope.

I just played with one today. R&S themselves told me the firmware is, umm,  :-BROKE
They wanted to send me one but were embarrassed to send it in it's current state  :o

I hope R&S will eventually get the implementation right.  Given their reputation, I am counting they could deliver.  Even if it is expensive now, if it picks up interest in the market with its compact form factor and R&S badge, hopefully it could trigger "inspirations" for competitors for the next generation of scopes - cordless handheld.  And with healthy competition, there's only one way for the price to go - down.  Although it can be argued that handheld scopes have been existing in the market for a while now, the implementation has been mostly well....unappealing

I can relate this with power tools too.  With the advent of Li-Ion batteries + brushless motors and after having had one, I find it hard to go back to corded tools anymore.  Of course unless you specifically need the power that only corded tools could offer.
