I'm running on 1.02.02 (I guess), and they're reverted 1.03 as far as I know. But thanks for the warning.

Yes, 1.03 was pulled because of this bug.

The next 1.03 should be a good one...

You never know. With Rigol it might be 1.03.00.07.09 or something.  ;)
All good as long as they don't go back to 1.02.whatever...

Releases have five groups of digits.

eg. The bad one was "v00.01.03.00.04", so maybe "v00.01.03.00.05".  :)

Although maybe they should put 1.04 just to avoid any possible confusion  ;)

Releases have five groups of digits.

Unless it's a DMM, in which case it may have six seven groups. And those even use the most significant digits, in contrast with any scope firmware version I can remember; they all are 00.something.

DMM3058 is at 01.01.00.02.03.01.00. There are rumours that the firmware version number actually encodes the entire content of the binary. ::)

Ah, that must be it. Otherwise it would be incomprehensible why their release management rejects the semantic versioning system adopted wholesale by most of the software industry.

Have any of them ever gone past "01" in the first two digits?

DG1000Z is at 03.01.12.00.00.  8)

For variety, DG800Pro and a few other recent products are at plain old "V 1.0" according to the Rigol International download page. But of course they don't mean that; it's really 00.01.00.00.21...

You know what's funny is that 1 week before I ordered the DHO804 for £280, somebody bought my DS1054z for £225 about 4 hours after I listed it on eBay.
It's almost like a free upgrade 🤷

Is it possible to replace the SD Card with a faster one? It will turn on faster.

Yes, I made a copy for safety and put the original away, but I don't feel that it meant anything.
The loading time did not change, I did not notice that any function would be better.
It's just that the space is bigger and I'm not afraid of updating.
Although it does not rule out that I would brick it if I turned it off in XY mode.
I am using firmware 00.01.03.00.06 >:D

May I ask where did you bought yours for 280£?
