A few days ago I moved my Rigol DS1074Z scope to a more convenient position, but now it's right next to my ear and a bit annoying. I decided to replace the fan, per several YouTube videos, with a Gelid low noise one.
I found out that although the Gelid is quieter it also pushes less air, and surprisingly pulls more current. At least the sample I bought. I decided to leave the original fan in for better air flow.
I thought it would be helpful to at least give some sort of measurable info regarding the noise and air flow, however crude, rather than just rely on even vaguer verbal descriptions. So here's a video.
