In the market for a new multimeter
« on: April 18, 2019, 09:34:16 pm »
Hi Guys, As the subject says, I'm looking for a new graphical multimeter. I have my eye on this one > https://www.aaatesters.com/Fluke_867B_Multimeter_Model_867B_Fluke_867B.html, but have read that there may be better options especially regarding battery life.

Any thoughts or guidance is appreciated!

Well for a thousand bucks I would do a lot of looking around.  I don't think I spent that much on my entire lab of test gear, including generators and counters and voltmeters and 'scopes.  Further, having so many functions wrapped up in one unit means (to me) high risk of it screwing up beyond economical repair.

I do like the Fluke 87 but have never owned one.

I know I am not addressing your query so forgive me for this kind of answer.

Check a Metrix MTX 3293.
Unfortunately their Website is down at the moment. But a very good Meter.

When you say “new” are we talking “new to you” or “new out of the box”?  The 867B is an old and discontinued meter.  Maybe the 289 might suit you?
