TDS5054B-NV-AV too much signal noise?
« on: February 20, 2023, 04:51:26 am »
Would you consider this too much signal noise? Regardless if it's from the probe compensation hook on the front panel, or acquiring signal from a DUT.
Doesn't matter if I use a more expensive Tektronix P5050 500MHz probe, or a cheap $20 probe from ebay, I get the same result, bad acquisition board, or is this normal for this scope?

I don't have problems acquiring signals from any of the 4 channels and SPC passes. However, if I press the "Calibrate" button and wait 5 mins for full calibration to complete (successfully mind you) and exit out of that screen, tekscope app crashes and forces me to shut down the scope.

Your square signal looks fine, don't expect ideal straight line. But scope crash is definitely not ok.

Thanks! Actually the scope crash isn't happening anymore after reinstalling the scope from the factory restore discs.
