Saw that this morning in my corporate email

Trying to convince myself that I don't (and the lab) don't need a pile of real time spec an's  :P

I don't recall of anyone hacking the RSA series either, at least not yet. It doesn't hit that "this is cheap enough if it bricks I won't care" sweet spot like the MSO5000. Granted if it's petalinux/Zynq like the 5k and 7k, could be a fun rev-eng project. Ghidra was really fun to use for that :)

Did this promotion not exist before in the United States ?
It exists already for some time in Europe ( since 10.10.2019)
It should expire on 31.03.2020 but it will maybe be extended.

They will pay the taxes too! No reason not to get one. Even if you don't need it :D

I'm not certain, but I think you can only use one code at a time at TEquipment.net so using the notax code would stop you from using the eevblog 6% code; in Michigan the sales tax is 6% so it is a wash either way.

I think I'd rather have an 'upgraded' DS1054Z than the DS1202Z-E for the $300 price tag; either way it's a good deal.  Rigol is the first company that's dropped prices in these difficult times although a lot of stuff at the low end e.g. DG812 has not come down.  I suspect that other OEMs will follow suit soon.

Just ordered a DS1202Z-E yesterday.   :-+  Previously, I had been looking at old scopes on ebay for US$150+P&H and off-off-Broadway scopes on AliExpress for US$259. When I saw a brand new 200 MHz scope direct from a decent manufacturer with probes, a traceable calibration certificate, and a 5-year OEM warranty (part of their current deal) for US$299 delivered to my front door in a couple of days (Rigol N.A. is down in Beaverton, Oregon, about 3 hours south of me) that was the biggest no-brainer gear acquisition of my entire life.

Way back when, my first scope was a Tek 544 with a W plugin. Differential did not help me much, but I got it for a cheap trade. It was big and heavy, but it was a decent space warmer.
Currently developing STM8 and STM32. Past includes 6809, Z80, 8086, PIC, MIPS, PNX1302, and some 8748 and 6805. Check out my public code on github. https://github.com/unfrozen

...and it’s here.

Holy cow. It's just a power supply and a PCB. No wonder these things are only US$299 delivered.

Yes, Dave, I smelled the "new gear smell" on it and then took it apart before I turned it on.  :)

The Rigol distributer in Australia is offering discounts around 10% at present but their prices are very high to begin with.

Can someone PM me a working discount code for Rigol and/or TEequipment.net?
I sent a PM this weekend; but haven't gotten anything.

I'm seriously considering a DL3021 and want to lock in the cheaper "work from home" discounts with any discount codes.

Never mind. I guess they posted the discount code in their thread after all.

@duckduck I'm considering the DS1202Z-E too. Since I haven't been able to find any review in youtube for it yet, can you tell us about the UI, is any different, faster or slower than old DS1054Z?

Wow! 2 channels and it doesn't have separate channel Y controls :(

I hope it is faster than a DS1054Z, it has to have some redeeming feature.  OK, I know you THINK you don't need more than 2 channels but if you can get 4 for the price of 2, why buy 2?

I am not a subscriber to the conspiracy theory that the Rigols have unacceptably slow UIs, I'm happy with all my Rigol gear; 3 scopes, 2 signal generators, and 2 power supplies (when my second DP832 gets here this week).

I suspect it's exactly the same.

I hope it is faster than a DS1054Z, it has to have some redeeming feature.

It's been discussed here and the only conclusion was that Rigol is simply filling a hole in their lineup.

(everybody else has a 200Mhz, 2-channel 'scope, Rigol didn't...)

Some people simply want 200Mhz rather than 4 channels.  :-//
