Good voltage regulator tester?

Is there a good, inexpensive voltage regulator tester? Most transistor regulators I want to test are from 5 to 18 volt.

Probably better to buy a power supply and an electronic load. Those would be useful for other tasks as well, as opposed to a dedicated regulator tester.

You could look at a regulator  data sheet like the classic LM7805  and see what parameters  are critical for you and these theses.

A transistor tester that has a high-voltage voltage source in its circuit for testing zener diodes can easily be converted into a voltage regulator tester. A photo of such a modification is below.
