Rigol DHO1074 is restricted and unavailable in US
« on: April 07, 2023, 03:51:38 pm »
I tried to buy a DHO1074 yesterday and today I get an email from TEquipment saying "We were just informed by the manufacturer that the Rigol DHO1074 is restricted and unavailable.".  I also got a voice mail saying all DH01000's are restricted.  They would be happy to sell me a DHO4204 for $1,700 more.  Has annoy else been told this?

Thanks, Tom

Have you done anything that would get you on the federal no-scope list?

IIRC there was something about resellers that sold the DHO4000 series were barred (by Rigol) from selling the DHO1000 series.

Batronix hee doesn´t offer the 1000, but the 4000.
Conrad Electronic offers the 1000 only to commercial customers, but the 4000 to all.

Welcome to the forum.

We had a similar report a few months back and it seems Rigol want to play politics as TE also sell other brands (read competition) so are restricting whom they supply and instead one brand sellers get first priority it seems......then they come knocking on my door.  :-//

Yeah, TEqipment have quite a few restrictions on purchases.

I couldn't buy a Fluke 87 shipped to NZ until I gave them my USA->NZ mail forward address.

Why???  :phew:

As for TEquipment not shipping a Fluke to NZ, I'd guess that some Fluke distributor(s) in NZ has an agreement with Fluke that carves out exclusive territory.  That's a very common arrangement.

It's a reason why Dave doesn't offer more Brymen meters on the EEVBlog store and why the meters he does sell often have to have a different feature set from the other Brymen meters in the same "family".  I wonder why that didn't happen with the BM235?
