Rigol 1052E vs old Fluke 124
« on: June 02, 2013, 08:00:36 pm »
I have a realy old Fuke 124 for HiFi repairs and for trend plots, sometimes i do check serial connections and jtag signal.

i do repair some TFT displays, mostly power supply and tube amps.

The display is hardly readable (backlight is not good) and Battery is not good, lasts for 2-3 hours.
I use it mostly on my workbench.

Will a new Rigol 1052E be a good and cheap choice?

Any  recommendation?

thanks

Cheap yes, good mostly. It will not be isolated from ground, as opposite to your ScopeMeter. It will not be as small as your ScopeMeter. It will not be as safe as your ScopeMeter. It will not run from battery.  Everything else should be better.

If you used it much you will sorely miss Trend Plot.  Probably my favorite feature of my 8846A.

What do you think about new Siglent handheld?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/SIGLENT-SHS806-Handheld-Oscilloscope-1-Ghz-Sampling-Rate-SHS806-/380574099745?pt=BI_Oscilloscopes&hash=item589bfbe921

It has trendplot as well.
I am thinking to buy one.

Save yourself some money here same supplier.  I have to look at the manual to see what their trend plot is like.
