Replacement case for Fluke 77 meter?
« on: April 28, 2014, 09:58:53 pm »
Years ago I was lucky to find a pile of broken Fluke 73s and one 77 at a hamfest that just needed new fuses. Apparently somebody at a Motorola RF lab kept killing them. They have been reliable and durable meters and I should have bought every one the guy had.

Early this year my trusty 77 jumped off a table onto a cement floor. The case around the LCD fragmented into a dozen pieces but the damn thing still works perfectly. I tried to glue it back together but the repair fell apart after it was left in a cold car overnight.

Does Fluke (or anyone) sell replacement cases?

It is listed on the Fluke site, but I don't know if anyone carries them other than finding them on ebay.

I'm an idiot and can't read.  If it is the case, then do as suggested by lowimpedance.

I assume its the actual case and not the holster you need?, if so the only source will be an old junker parts job as suggested, on ebay etc.
It would have to be 'going real cheap' otherwise its not really practical for an old meter like this.
good luck.
The odd multimeter or 2 or 3 or 4...or........can't remember !.

As I changed post#2 now due to lack of reading skills, Excavatoree, a member here, probably has lots of these cases lying around?  PM him and he can probably sell you an used one.

Thanks for the tip. It may be an old meter but she has served me well and I can trust it unlike a Harbor Freight DMM.
