Used to do the switching before with those Netio-230C smart switches...but since incorporating them into a scripting language wasn't easy...I switched to the good old AP9212 switches with SNMP/Web management card installed (AP9606).
Those switches are more me also a good way to measure power-on/power-off automated scenario...

What's missing is getting the outlet names and status via SNMP during startup....but surprisingly the old RealBasic pbsw-SNMP class still works ;-)
And yes...some preferences dialog to enter the IP addresses of those switches and create individual tabs for them (as I have currently 5 AP9212)
