R&S - Demystifying EMC Seminar on June 15th in Porto
« on: June 15, 2023, 07:36:13 pm »
Hello,

Today I was able to attend to the R&S seminar called "Demystifying EMC". Unfortunately I could only stay for the morning sessions.

But I must say that the sessions I attended were excellent:

First, spanish teacher and researcher at Zaragoza university, Arturo Mediano, made an excellent presentation on EMC, with a life demonstration! I just found the PowerPoint he used here: https://cdn.rohde-schwarz.com/it/seminario/RS_EMI_debugging_V2.6.pdf

This PDF does not justice to his presentation, where he scribbled on top of the slides and switched screens between the presentation, the videocamera showing the setup and, of course, the remote screen (VNC) of the R&S Oscilloscope.

It was a brilliant demonstration and lecture. His students are very lucky!

Next was:

- Understanding precompliance – what, why, how (by Victor Medina, Application Engineer, Rohde & Schwarz Spain) --> great presentation on precomplicance, could have some life demo, but still it was very comprehensive

- Update on CISPR standards (by Tobias Groß, Product Manager EMI Test Receiver, Rohde & Schwarz Munich)

- EMI Receivers: 1 GHz Wideband testing and cost-efficient conducted testing (by Tobias Groß, Product Manager EMI Test Receiver, Rohde & Schwarz Munich)

In these two presentation Tobias talked about the standards (puh, I did not realise HOW complex) and then about the brand new EMI receivers developed by R&S.

I missed theses sessions:

- EMC and eMobility (by Martin Wiles, Director, Strategy and Business Development, Albatross)

- High value-added Rohde & Schwarz services solutions” (by Francesc Lopez, Service Sales Engineer – Rohde & Schwarz Spain)

- Coffee and discussions in exhibition

This is a shoutout to R&S to thank them (in case somebody is reading my post)!

If this seminar is coming close to you, I highly recommend it.

Kind regards,
vitor

Thanks for the feedback!

The “Understanding Precompliance” session was most likely the one I developed and presented during the first seminar session in February.  I recorded it as a video and it’s now live on the R&S YouTube channel:

I also did a whitepaper version (same material, just in written form)

Thanks again!
