EEV Blog Brymen 235 multimeter issues
« on: May 31, 2019, 12:37:14 am »
I have a lightly used EEV Blog Brymen 235 multimeter that I bought from here 2-3 years back...most likely 4-5 years because I'm horrible with dates haha.  Anyway I was trying to do some electrical work the other day and noticed I could not get the meter to measure voltage to check if an outlet was de-energized.  I could get it to measure the frequency and know it was powered down that way but I can't measure AC or DC voltages.  It seems to still measure continuity as I can touch the probes together can it will beep.  Any idea what I can check and possibly fix myself?  I believe the fuses are still good and don't think they are the issue.

Thanks!

That doesn't look like an easy fix.  I suspect some problem deep within the innards, like a bad processor or solder joint.
