Fluke 8808A 5 1/2 Digit Multimeter voltmeter drifiting
« on: August 06, 2024, 11:30:47 am »
Hi,

I purchased a Fluke 8808A and everything appeared to be ok.

Just sent it off to be calibrated, and now when open-circuit the volt meter drifts (DC) by around 0.2 mV/s initially and slows down around 10mV to around 0.001 mV/s like charging a capacitor. Final resting place seems to be about 20 mV after 30 mins.

Is this something I should be concerned about and would this be caused/fault by the calibration house?

Thanks.

could be simply  let it warm for 1 hour ???

and for open circuit,  the probes could act as antennas,  the input circuitry (no probes) could slightly charge up  ....

if the calibration passed and you are in spec,  i would not worry
