I guess this a through-back to Red Rider in 2014.

I too bought an Anritsu MG3670B for less than a song. This box creates cell phone test message protocols. I got it because I thought I could use its very pure CW generator capabilities, RF freq. range and level attenuation to teach myself about quadrature modulation/demodulation. If I have it right, I believe that I can use the I&Q input and outputs jacks to create digitally modulated RF signals - limited to one of the nine pre-established baseband frequencies (controlled by the installed system modules).

Can anybody confirm or add to my assumptions and/or point me to a service manual (with schematic) for my Anritsu MG3670B?

This boat anchor is just way to cool to not be highly useful for something...

Thanks for anything you've got for me,

CW on these old Anritsu generators isn't very pure, it's RF performance is roughly the same as the old HP/Agilent ESG Series which is OK for some tasks but hardly outstanding.

That depends on the options, i.e. MG0305A allows you to create GFSK modulated signals (DECT), while MG0301C lets you create DQPSK modulated signals. In any case, the modulation capabilities of this generator are very limited.
